My flight was delayed/canceled. 

My flight was overbooked.

My luggage was lost.

I was jet-lagged.

I was mugged. 

I lost my passport

The weather was miserable. 

The place was a tourist trap. 

My hotel was in a seedy area.

I couldn’t wait to get back home. 

I missed my connection.
