All roosters, hens, cockerels, pullets and capons are chickens. They are subcategories of age and gender, but all the same species.
- Chickens live together in flocks.

- Hens cluck and lay eggs.
Rooster/Cock – an adult male
Hen – an adult female
Pullet – a juvenile female
Cockerel – a juvenile male
Capon – a juvenile male
Roast chicken – Most of the chicken we eat is hen meat.
